The Leiden Institute of Air and Space Law and the Sarin Foundation have organized the First International Air Law Moot Court Competition:

THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL AIR LAW MOOT COURT

“Practice leads to perfection”

The Sarin Memorial Legal Aid Foundation and the International Institute of Air and Space Law, Leiden University (IIASL) believe in the quote above, hence the decision to launch the first of its kind, International Air Law Moot Court. This Competition is the brain child of both institutions whose main ambition is to produce successful experts in the field of air law.

The combination is a novel one, with the Sarin Foundation working towards providing free legal aid to the needy in India and promoting the level of legal education amongst students in India, while the International Institute of Air and Space Law is a world renowned institute offering inter alia an advanced Master and Doctorate degrees in the field of air and space law.

The moot court Competition is scheduled to be held from the 2-6th of March 2010 in New Delhi, India and offers law students from different countries the opportunity to specialise in air law, being judged by some of the most prominent judges, academia and experts in the relevant field.

The Competition is aimed at promoting air law in India and worldwide, while at the same time training the participants for preparation of briefs, real life court appearances, and debating skills.

India, the country in which the aviation market has played a very significant role in the last five years, along with the country’s rich heritage and culture offers a perfect venue to host this event.

This Competition has sparked an interest among many countries, with various universities in Asia participating in this event. This diversity will offer a rewarding and unique experience to the students, organizers, sponsors and friends of the event.
