U.S. Court rules against airlines on TSA security fees

WASHINGTON -In a setback for the airlines, a federal appeals court ruled Friday that the government acted properly when it calculated fees that the airlines pay for airport security.

The airlines were seeking to roll back fees charged by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration.

The TSA took over passenger screening after the September 2001 terror attacks aboard four jetliners. It charges fees that are capped at the amount airlines spent in 2000, when they were responsible for security. [Full story]
