IAC 2010: IISL Annual Dinner and Other IISL News

After the world finals of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition The IISL gathered for its annual dinner. During this dinner several individuals were recognized for their achievements and service:

Phillip de Mann received the Dr. I.H.Ph. Diederiks-Verschoor Award for best paper by a young scholar.

Prof. Vladimir Kopal received the IISL Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr. Sylvia Ospina received the Distinguished Service Award.

And Dr. J.M. Contant received the Certificate of Appreciation.

In other IISL news. The IISL announced that it had republished The Law of Outer Space, An Experience in Contemporary Law Making by Judge Manfred Lachs. The new edition was edited by Prof. Tanja Masson-Zwaan and Prof. Stephan Hobe.

Also, at the General Assembly meeting, the results of the elections were that:

Tanja Masson-Zwaan (The Netherlands) was re-elected as President.
Corrine Jorgenson (France) was re-elected as Executive Secretary.
Ram Jakhu (Canada) was re-elected as a Director.
Francis Lyall (UK) was re-elected as a Director.
Sergio Marchisio (Italy) was re-elected as a Director.
Kai-Uwe Schrogl (Germany) was re-elected as a Director.
Steven Freeland (Australia) was newly elected as a Director.

Congratulations to all. The General Assembly also adopted a resolution commending Tanja Masson-Zwaan for her dedication and service to the IISL during her first term as president and during her many years as secretary of the organization.
