Of interest to the aerospace community in general, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations have been amended (hat tip ExportLawBlog). The amendment is to 22 CFR 127.12 and affects voluntary disclosures under the regime. The final rule was published in the December 13, 2007 Federal Register at 72 FR 70777-779.
The amendment imposes a 60 day dealine for final disclosures after initial notification, requires additional information in disclosures, and in cases of a “major violation, a systematic pattern of violations, or the absence of an effective compliance program” the DDTC may require that the certification be signed by a “senior officer.”
